Successful Solar Books is the sister company of Caravan & Motorhome Books (the latter started by engineer/author/publisher Collyn Rivers in early 2000). The first books were mostly about the more technical aspects of recreational vehicles of all kinds, with a special emphasis on their electrical and solar systems. These were well accepted and now sell in over 50 countries worldwide.
The first solar book ‘Solar That Really Works’ was published in separate caravan and motorhome editions. It was however bought (worldwide) also by people seeking a down-to-earth book about installing solar in cabins and fishing lodges etc.
A second edition (published in late 2006) combined the previous two editions and was extended to include information relevant also to cabins etc.
Following both reader and industry demand, it was decided (in 2007) to extend activities to publishing books on solar in general: initially our own, but including other titles by other authors where felt desirable. Hence the new company.
The first new title – Solar Success - is a totally new book. Written by the company founder (Collyn Rivers) Solar Success is a truly comprehensive book that describes every aspect of home and property solar systems. The existing Solar That Really Works will be sold also by Successful Solar Books.
Both companies walk the walk. Located on a remote 10-acre property in the far north-west of Australia, every activity on that property is totally solar powered. Carbon offsets cover that energy used for printing and transport.
The books are available through a growing number of specialist outlets in major cities in Australia (and Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand.)
